Worship at First Presbyterian Church
About Worship at First Presbyterian Church
Our worship is Christ-centered and joyfully ascribes all praise and honor, glory and power to the Triune God.
In Worship…
We believe in the inspired and authoritative Word of God and seek to understand it and obey it.
We strive to be relevant to our culture and true to our heritage.
We offer a blended service which includes both traditional and contemporary elements.
We seek to minister to the various generations and incorporate the different talents gifted to each person by God.
We worship with organ, piano and praise band incorporating the grand traditional hymns along with the newer praise songs. At various times throughout the year our worship will include bell choir, drama and video illustrations.
We are led by the power of the Holy Spirit and changed by Him as He transforms us into the likeness of Christ.
We celebrate two Sacraments—The Sacrament of Baptism and the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper.
At various times through out the year we hold special services such as Maundy Thursday Communion, Christmas Eve Candlelight and services of healing.
I rejoiced with those who said to me, “Let us go to the house of the LORD.” – Psalm 122:1
Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another– and all the more as you see the Day approaching. – Hebrews 10:25
He (Jesus) went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. And he stood up to read. - Luke 4:16
